Ricky Lane Carpenter passed away on September 14, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born May 27, 1961, in Winnfield, Louisiana.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, William "Henry" Carpenter and his mother, Ruth Elaine Ates, his sister, Edith Marie Brown Roop, his nephew, Brian Taft "Quadro" Smith, IV, great nephew, Abram Smith and his son-in-law, Matthew Sesvold.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Colt Carpenter, his sons, Trinity Andrew Willett and Kerry Lane Carpenter, and his daughter, Megan Rachelle Sesvold, three grandchildren, Maybri Rowell, Matthew Sesvold, Jr. and Lizabeth Goodwin. He was also survived by his siblings, Janiece Adkins and her husband, Kenny Adkins, Toni Lynn Pokoney and her husband, Rick Pokoney, Sarah "Jan" O'Bannon and her husband, Bruce O'Bannon, Jackie Lamar Davis and his fiancé, Marie Buxton, and Carolyn Wells and her husband, Jeremy Wells, as well as numerous nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews.
Ricky loved his wife, he loved his dog, "Red", and he loved his family. He enjoyed camping, cowboy movies, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed, with much pleasure, being rude, crude and sometimes socially unacceptable just for the fun of it.
Ricky was a Carpenter by name, he was a talented carpenter by trade who could and did build a house all by himself. He was proud to have worked as a derrick hand in the oil field, but he was generally a jack of all trades.
A committal service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, September 25 at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
