Pete Stanfield is dead and John Route Is held in the County Jail charged with murder as the result of a fight at a dance at Oberlin, in the Southeast part of the county Saturday night according to word from the County Attorney's office, Stanfield was stabbed In a fight in which several persons participated according to reports.

John Rout Given Four Years In Stanfield Case
Convicted on Charge of Stabbing to Death Pete Stanfield Last November at Dance near Lake West.
Rout was found guilty of the murder of Pete Stanfield late Saturday night by a district court Jury and sentenced to four years in the state penitentiary Rout was charged with stabbing Stanfield to death at a dance near Lake West last November The argument which resulted in Stanfield's death was participated in by several men according to testimony.
Rout's trial was started Saturday morning and the case given to the jury at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Defense attorneys were Walter Turnbull and John Morris The prosecution was handled by county attorney J A Shirley and assistant attorney George F Deck
