Billy was a 1955 graduate of Ola High School.
In addition to his parents, Billy was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Olga R. McCoy in 2019.
After graduating from high school, he joined the US Air Force where he proudly served his country for 20 years, during his military career, he served one tour in Korea, two tours in Vietnam, and many isolated tours. After retiring from the US Air Force, he started his own trucking business, McCoy Trucking. He was an owner/operator for McCoy Trucking, working with his sons, JR and Steven, retiring from trucking in 2007.
Billy was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who was loved by all who knew him. He was an avid deer hunter and loved spending time in the deer woods with his family.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his daughter, Norma McCoy Little, sons, James R. McCoy and Steven (Denea) McCoy all of Benton, Arkansas.
The joys of his life, his grandchildren, Jaymie (Dexter) Hendrix, Jared (Jess) McCoy, Taylor (Mike) Heath, Colby Williams, Uriah Williams, and great-grandchildren, Chloe Hendrix, Callie Hendrix, Owen Hendrix, Alorah Heath, and Greyson Heath.
Billy was the cherished brother of Mary McCoy Leach, Nancy McCoy Porter, both of Ola, Arkansas, Linda (Ronald) Lochamy of Benton, brothers, Jimmy (Brenda) McCoy of Plainview, Arkansas, Johnnie (Evanna) McCoy, Glenn (Gayle) McCoy of Benton, Paul (Pam) McCoy of Little Rock and Frank (JoAnn) McCoy of Lonoke, Arkansas.
Visitation at Ashby Funeral Home will be Sunday, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday at Forest Hills Cemetery with full military honors. Bro. Marcus Blakely will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church in Benton.
