Joyce Carolyn Melton was born October 30, 1948 in Webb City, Missouri to parents Ed and Maude (McCarty) Cupp. J.C. as she was known by everyone, loved Elvis. She collected his memorabilia and music. She also enjoyed collecting Native American collectables. J. C. met her husband Wade in fourth grade and were together 54 years. She was a member of Second Street Baptist Church, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. J. C. will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

J. C. was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Dorothy Reynolds, Ovella Kirkman, Cherry Cupp and Rose Terry.

She is survived by her husband, Wade Melton of Scurry, children: Rick Melton of Scurry, David Melton and wife Shannon of Scurry, Rose Dishong and husband Gary of Burleson, Robin Samples and husband Kenneth of Kaufman, Tiffany Graves and husband David of Joplin, MO, Melody Whitehead and Mack of Seneca, MO, Jeffry Melton of San Antonio, Scotty Melton and Patricia of San Antonio, Gregory Glover of Joplin, MO, 30 grandchildren, scores of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, sisters: Maybelle Cook, Patsy Edwards, Margaret Sturgin, Mary Simonson and Opal Cupp, brother: Everett Cupp, other loving family members and many more friends.
