Born in Salina on March 24, 1943, to Joe Nicholas and Cynthia Ann (Cummings) Gann. Betty grew up attending Salina school and graduated from Salina High School in 1961. She met and married John Ford in that same year, eventually they became parents to 3 daughters and a son. The family made their home in Foyil from 1965 to 2000, followed by several years in Shell Knob, Mo. at Table Rock Lake. In 2006 John and Betty moved to Chouteau.
Almost 25 years working as a secretary for Foyil Public Schools, Betty retired, and they moved to Shell Knob, Mo. to spend more time fishing and listening to country music. John and Betty also enjoyed dancing to country music together and going to Branson.
A fun-loving prankster with a wonderful sense of humor, Betty left her family with many treasured memories. Betty loved her dog's as they were her very own children. She would sometimes call out the name "Tinker" to her 1st born granddaughter Heather by accident.
She is survived by her children; Becky Ford of Claremore, Teresa Prather and husband, Jerry of Chelsea, Joanie Sutton and husband Darrell also of Chelsea, and Fred Ford of Chouteau; grandchildren Heather Ozbun and husband BJ of Claremore, Brandon Sutton of Chelsea, Grace Ford, Emilee Ford and John Ford of Chouteau; two step grandchildren Ashley and Blake Prather, both of Claremore; her sibling Geraldine Thompson and husband Jimmy of Eufala; and many cousins, nephews and nieces who she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband John Ford and two siblings: Joann Gast and Agnes Blevins.
