Amanda Apeha Williams, born 27 Feb 1860; died Feb 1898 in Indian Territory. She was the daughter of William Apeha and Suki Bohanan. She married Benjamin Meriwether Snead Between 1885 - 1887. He was the son of John Yates Snead and Lemira Jane Lambert.
*Notes for Amanda Apeha Williams: The 1896 Choctaw Census 429-308 lists Amanda as ¾ Indian. She was enumerated in Towson County along with her husband Ben M. Snead (451-13, age 50, white, married since 1875), and children Thomas K, 10; Edward P, 8; Susan J, 6; Roberta, 4; and John Y., 1.
According to the WPA interview Edward P. Snead gave, Ben and Amanda married about 1884, however, Ben's son Thomas Kendrick, with his previous wife Sallie or Sarah, was born Feb 1885, and he married Amanda after that wife (who was also Amanda's half-sister) died. Furthermore, Benjamin and Sarah Sneade (sic) are listed in 1885 Choctaw Census. Edward was born in 1887, so it appears Ben and Amanda married between 1885 and 1887.
