Mr. William Don Burgess, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Highlands Medical Center. He was a US Army Veteran and served as a policeman in Memphis. Mr. Burgess was a Mason and a member of Eastern Star. He was a retired United Methodist Minister, he also ministered for 8 years in the Jackson County jail and 5 years with Karios Prison ministry in Limestone County. He also retired after 42 years as an Independent Insurance agent.

Mr. Burgess is survived by his loving wife, Mildred "Sue" Proctor Burgess; son, Robert Burgess; three step children, Bruce Hoge (Nancy), Perry Hoge (Sonya) and Gena Quinn; sister, Judy Montovio; two brothers, Dwight Burgess (Betty) and Jerry Burgess; grandchildren, Amanda Murdock (Marshall), Riley Hoge (Lori), Brooke Zolnik (Richard), Holly Quinn, Amber Stevens (Luke), Autumn Quinn, Jeremy Quinn, Sarah Hoge, Molly Border (Cole), Kelsey Burgess and Brandi Burgess; Many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family member.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Ray A. & Elsie A. Burgess; sons, Chris and Greg Burgess; brother, Bobby and June Burgess; grandchild, Sherisa Burgess.
