Gary Jo Griffith, age 74, passed away September 12, 2021. He was born June 26, 1947, in Anadarko, OK to Robert Griffith and Maxine Griffith Hyatt. He was a graduate of Anadarko High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Southwestern State College in Weatherford where he was on a 4-year baseball scholarship. He furthered his baseball career playing on a semi-Pro League. Gary married Patty Spear in 1967 and to that union two sons were born, Jeff and Branden. He served in the National Guard for six years. In 1975 Gary went to work in Mustang for State Farm Insurance and has held that office until his passing. In 1981 God brought Kathy Jones (Russell) Griffith into his life. They were married in 1983 and just celebrated 38 years together. They were truly the love of each other's lives. They made each other better people. They attend Life Church in Mustang, OK. Gary loved golf and enjoyed playing with his State Farm Buddies, friends and family. He was a kind, loving, wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather George Hyatt, his favorite uncle Raymond Griffith, nieces Kara Griffith, Kristin and Bryan Darks, in-laws; George and Onita Russell and brother-in-law Paul Hearne. Gary is survived by his wife Kathy, two sons; Jeff and wife Vickie and Branden Griffith, two grandchildren; Dani Knight and husband Leland, Alex Odell and husband Zach and great grandson Owen Scott Odell. Also, by his two stepsons; Jeff Jones and wife Lori, Russell Jones and wife Cortney, grandchildren; Brooke Neil and husband Jonathan, Bailey, Rylee Lucus and Wyatt Jones and great granddaughter; Joy Neil, three brothers; Derrell and Mary Griffith, Larry and Mary Griffith, Kris and Nancy Griffith, sister-in-law Cindy Hearne, brother-in-law Gary and Shonda Russell, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
