Helen L. French, 74, joined her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Visitation will be 1pm - 2pm, Friday, September 17, 2021, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 2pm in the chapel. Burial will follow in Jesus Name Tabernacle in Richland, MS.
Sister French was born in Quitman County, MS on December 31, 1946, to the late Marlin D. Howe, Sr. and Virginia Stuard Howe. She was a member of New Destiny Church, formerly First United Pentecostal Church of Richland, MS, where she was very involved with teaching Sunday School and housekeeping as part of her ministry and being a Servant of Christ. Sister French loved witnessing to others and sharing the gospel.
She adored spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a passion for shopping whether it in the stores, online, or the home shopping networks on TV.
Survivors include her husband, James E. French; 6 children, Sheila Allison (Hiram) of Inverness, MS, James J. French (Felicia) of Albany, LA, John E. French of Richland, MS, Sherry Hannah (Billy Wayne) of Brandon, MS, Sharron Schooler (Chris) of Brandon, MS, and Jacob E. French (Shelly) of Pearl, MS; 2 sisters, Dorothy Murray of Heber Springs, AR and Elizabeth Darby of Nettleton, MS; 25 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to Debbie Burkes for being a good friend and being like a daughter. She was preceded in death by her parents 6 siblings.
