Mr. Fred Malone, a native of Lawrenceville, Va., resided in Hampton for sixty years. Born to Ruth Short Malone and Leonard Malone on February 8, 1924, he was the youngest son of six children. After graduating from Saint Paul's Polytechnic Institute in 1942, and serving in the United States Navy during World War II, he began a professional trajectory that led to an appointment as Motor Vehicle Operations Foreman, Department of the Army, U.S. Army Transportation Center and Fort Eustis.

For more than 50 years, Mr. Malone was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Hampton, Va. He was also a loyal and conscientious worker in the St. Paul's Alumni Association, and the Beau Brummel Civic and Social Club, Incorporated.

Left to cherish precious memories are three loyal and dedicated daughters, Barbara Malone, Jacqui Malone, and Linda Malone-Colon; five faithful grandchildren, Kymani Pearson-Brown (Kwame), Adimu Colon (Kyra), Jabari Colon (Shakia), Douglass Malone-O'Meally, and Gabriel Malone-O'Meally; and great-grandchildren, Ayana, Axel, Yasmine, Jabari, Lily, Kaidence, Akemini, and Luna.

On Thursday, September 16th, there will be a viewing from noon to 6 p.m. at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home, 251 W. Queen St., Hampton. A graveside service will be held at Hampton Memorial Gardens on Friday, September 17th, at 1:00 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required.
