Bishop Henry Cox will officiate and burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden,1603 Bishop L.N. Forbes Street, Wilson, NC. The public walk-through visitation is scheduled for Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by: her husband, Joseph Barnes, Sr.; one son, Jessie Thomas Barnes; one grandchild, Denise Anderson; six brothers, Herbert Joyner, Eddie Clee, Lonnie, Roester, Roosevelt and James Joyner, Sr.; six sisters, Beulah Hines, Annie Clee Melton, Susie Mae Joyner, Louise Joyner, Queen Ester Tisdale, and Essolene Joyner; and one son-in-law, Solomon Hudson.
She leaves precious memories to: nine daughters, Marion Kirby of Hampton, VA, Shirley Jean Hinnant of Wilson, NC, Brenda Davis (Kenneth) of Wilson, NC, Helen White of Selma, NC, Judy Chatman (Dwight) of Lucama, NC Donna Sue Barnes of Wilson, NC, Gloria Hudson of Wilson, NC; Jennette Barnes of Greenville, NC, and Margie Hinnant (Brad) of Bailey, NC; one son, Joseph Barnes (Minnie) of Wilson, NC; one brother, Wallace Joyner (Linda) of Queens, NY; one sister, Shirley G.
