Michael Lee Chapman, 35, of Bell City passed away at 11:43 PM on Sunday, August 22, 2021 in a local hospital.

Michael and Whitney "Queen Tekin" met in 2009 after midnight dancing to "The Chair." After 6 years they married and had three precious children-Shelby, Wyatt, and Camille. They made their home in Bell City, LA. They spent their weekends camping and spending time with friends. They loved spending time with their best friends having "George Strait" nights.

Michael was born on July 3, 1986 in Sulphur. He was a graduate of Barbe High School and Sowela Technical College. Michael worked as a meter technician for CBS Metering.

Michael was a big man with an even bigger heart. He was a loving father, husband, brother, son, and friend. Michael would be the first person there if someone needed help. He was a top notch pittmaster and loved his LSU Tigers, McNeese Cowboys, and New Orleans Saints.

Michael and Whitney leave behind to cherish their memory three precious children, Shelby, Wyatt, and Camille.

Michael also leaves behind his mother and father, Melissa and Sherwin Chapman; sister, Stacey (Seth); maternal grandmother, Elvina Daigle with whom he could do no wrong; paternal grandmother, Juanita Spell; his Nanny, Renee Daigle; his paran, Kurt Daigle; cousins, Justin (Jessica) and Morgan (Robbie) who were more like brother and sister; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Hilary Daigle; uncle, Joey Chapman; great grandparents, Armance Mouton, Amos and Elise Daigle, and Pauline Guillory; and his precious pup, Yoshi.

They say only the good die young, and they were just too good for this earth. In true Michael fashion I have no doubt his last words were "Let me doooo!"

A funeral mass for Michael and Whitney will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 17, 2021 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Fr. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Cremation will be entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home following the services. Inurnment will be held in Consolata Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will begin on Thursday at University Baptist Church from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Friday from 9:00 AM until leaving for the catholic church at 10:30 AM. Following the service, there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Cajun French Music Association building, 3481 E. Prien Lake Rd., Lake Charles, LA 70615
