PONCA, Neb. - Belva I. Holmberg, 79, of Ponca died Thursday, Jan. 19, 1995, at the Elms Health Care Center in Ponca.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca with the Rev. Richard Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in the Hartford Cemetery in Hartford, S.D. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

She was born May 9, 1915, in Hartford S.D., the daughter of John and Kate (Odle) Caldwell. She lived in the Hartford area until 1917 when she moved with her family to Willow Lake, S.D., where she grew up and received her education. She moved with her parents to Centerville, S.D. in 1943. She later moved to Ponca and worked at Council Oaks Store. She and her sister sang for the opening act for 10 years for the Art B. Thomas Show. She married Vern Holmberg and moved with him to Phoenix, Ariz. where she worked for Motorola for 20 year. She resided at Elms Health Care Center for the past seven and a half years.

Mrs. Holmberg was a Presbyterian.

Surviving include a sister and her husband, Audrey and Bill Brown of Ponca; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lorraine Pipgras.
