Mildred Putnam, 90, of Waynesville, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Autumn Care.
Born and Raised in McCreary County Kentucky, Mildred was the daughter of the Alex and Lora Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Noah Putnam who died in 1986; brothers, Billy Ray, Leroy, Allen, and Verlon Thompson; sisters, Glenna Young, Bernice King, Velma Thompson, and Irene West; and granddaughter, Patience Putnam.
Mildred grew up in McCreary County Kentucky and had lived the past 64 years in Haywood County. She enjoyed vacationing, gardening, cooking, listening to the scanner and collecting angels. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish Mildred's memory are her children, Nancy Putnam Messer and Patricia Greenwood; grandchildren, Shannon (Tanya) Messer, Jeremy (Stacee) Messer, Brandon Matthews, Michelle (Chris) Fenton; great-grandchildren, Alex, Avery, Breyden, Micha-Lynn, and Emma-Kate; sisters, Dorothy Sisk, Norma (Ronnie) Lucas, Betty Jo (Sam) Boyd, and Darlene Creekmore; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 17, 2021 at Smoky Mountain Chapel, with Pastor Phillip Wyatt officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-2 pm. Burial will follow services at Buchanan Cemetery.
