Thaddeus Bergeron
Adaus Bergeron, 77, passed away in Moosa Memorial Hospital on July 20 at 6:30 a.m. after on illiness of one month. He was a retired farmer and resident of the Frey Community.
Bergeron spent 55 years working rice pumps and in the last several years had been running five wells for the Hayes Planting Company of Iota. During his years of work with wells he watched the progress of engines from steam to crude oil to diesel.
Funeral services were held last Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata with interment in the church cemetery (Mowata Cemetery) under direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home.
Bergeron is survived by his wife, the former Ernestine Lacasse of the Frey Community, two sons, Elmen Bergeron of the Frey Community and Nelson Bergeron of Dallas, Texas. Six daughters, Mrs. Nolan (Elrenia Bergeron) Bergeron of Lake Charles, Mrs. Curry (Rosemary Bergeron) Reed, Mrs. Allen Gus (Virginia Bergeron) Miller, Mrs. L.D. (Geneva Bergeron) Manuel and Mrs. Joe (Verna Lee Bergeron) Weeks, all of Eunice and Mrs. Lela Mae (Bergeron) Fontenot of the Frey Community. One brother, Exolus "Lulus" of Lake Charles, two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Ozea Bergeron) Schambaugh, Jr. of Eunice and Mrs. Ostay (Derozia Bergeron) LeJeune of Oberlin, 34 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
