Dale was born to Lily Katherine Wright April 30, 1942 in Macon, Georgia. He was raised in Vernon by Elaine Hudnall and her parents William Eugene and Mae Hudnall.
On September 21, 1963 Dale married Wanda Rose Ensey of Odell, Texas.
A lifetime resident of the Odell-Vernon area, starting with Wright Brand Food Dale's entire career was spent in the meat packing industry except for a few years working for Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad. He retired from Tyson Foods.
Dale will be remembered for his love of Elvis' music and in his younger years was known to "belt out an Elvis song or two" upon request. He also loved tinkering in his shop while listening to music, old cars, working in his flower beds, playing slots, and attending estate sales. Dale enjoyed accumulating things and compiled several collections over the years of things he thought might be of value or that he might need.
Dale is survived by his wife Wanda of Vernon and their daughters Teresa Wright Daniel and husband Mark of Seymour, Texas; Angela Wright of Vernon; Teri Wright Powell and husband Michael of Quanah, Texas; Jeri Wright Sena and husband Damon of Northglenn, Colorado; and Beverly Wright Kolanek and husband Josh of Justin, Texas as well as grandchildren Jacoby Warlick, Cecily Warlick, Montana Wooten, Bellamy Wooten, Cooper Daniel, Haven Kolanek, Lucas Sena, and Jonah Kolanek. In addition, he leaves behind his companion in recent years Sue Garcia.
The family will gather for a private celebration of Dale's life at a later date.
