James Duane Crofoot, 81, passed away from this life on the afternoon of Sept. 03, 2021 in Mountain Home, TX., surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Dec. 30, 1939, in Saginaw, Michigan to Charles and Ruth Crofoot.
Jim graduated from Harrison High School in Michigan. He proudly served in the US Marine Corp (1959-1963).
Originally from Bay City, Michigan, Jim made Kerrville his home 15 years ago. Before settling in Kerrville, he worked and retired as an Iron Worker. On December 30, 1985, Jim married Nancy Dishaw and they joined together their families.
Jim volunteered at the V.A. and the American Legion and was an American Legion Historian. In his free time, he loved to travel and spend time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy Crofoot; children, Margo (Steve) Brown of St. Pete, FL., Scott Crofoot of Pinellas Park, FL., Terri (Mark) Charbonneau of Auburn, MI., Tammy (Gary) Sandillo of St. Pete, FL., Charles Crofoot II of Perry, MI., Linda (Wade) Doud of Mountain Home, Greg (Jeanette) Knee of MI., and James Dishaw of MI; 23 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Jack (Shirley) Datte of CA., Sam (Gwen) Morley of MI., and Charles (Kathy) Houghtling of MI; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim will be loved and missed by other family members and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Onie Crofoot I; mother, Ruth Crofoot; siblings, Connie Datte, Charlene Shultz, Sandy Carr and Gary Crofoot; grandsons, Christopher Knee and Johnny Loughner; stepdaughters, Cindy Knee and Teresa Knee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jim's memory can be sent to the American Legion Post 1480, 3800 Riverside, Kerrville, Texas 78028.
