Mae E. Walker-Armstrong
Mae E. Walker-Armstrong of Northwest Portland, a retired counselor at the Oregon School for the Deaf, died of congestive heart failure Monday in her home. She was 82. A service was held Thursday. Disposition was by cremation.
Mrs. Walker- Armstrong was born June 15, 1910, in Spokane, where she was reared and schooled. Her maiden name was Albert. She moved to Portland in 1924. Mrs. Walker- Armstrong was an assistant drug manager for Fred Meyer stores for 15 years.
She then worked at the Oregon School for the Deaf in Salem for 15 years until her retirement in 1974. She had been active in programs at the Williams Plaza.
Survivors include a daughter, Delores Butcher of Seaside; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
