Carolyn Louise Freeman was a vivacious wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully, yet fashionably, on September 8, 2021, at the ripe young age of 83.
Carolyn was known for her radiant personality, wicked sense of humor, and her cherished stories. Decades ahead of her time, Carolyn had a way with words that often left the room n stitches. Her personality, compassion, and intuition reached many, leaving all she encountered feeling loved, valued, and most importantly: understood.
In true Carolyn fashion, we felt it would be most appropriate to leave her friends and family with just one more story:
Carolyn was born to Oral and Myrtle Allen on April 3, 1939, in Caldwell, Idaho. Her mother Myrtle owned Caldwell's Mode-O!-Day and father, Oral, worked in sand and gravel. After Graduating from high school, Carolyn the Caldwell Cougar fell for Donald R. Freeman, a Parma Panther. Together they built a beautiful life in Nampa, sharing it with their beloved children: Marty, Staci, and Twins Shannon and Shawna.
After marrying her husband, Carolyn decided to go into the family business and open a Mode-O!-Day of her own in the Karcher Mall. After 10 years in retail, Carolyn sold her store and went to work for Hewlett Packard when they released the first personal desktop computer. She later retired and worked on her own schedule as a bail agent for her beloved daughter Staci Freeman. Yes, you read that correctly….All 5 feet 1 inch of this little spit-fire worked as a bail agent for 10 years, winning over the hearts and minds of inmates from all walks of life.
She was fearless, determined, creative, and stubborn. But most of all, Carolyn taught us how to embrace life, enjoy each moment, and to take time to laugh at ourselves and the beautiful absurdity of life.
Some of her dearest memories are of her days in cheerleading, as homecoming queen, contributing to the Institute of Children's Literature, and burning her big brother's playhouse down (oops!).
Carolyn will be missed dearly. Although we know in our hearts that heaven gained a soul full of love, wisdom, and zeal.
A graveside services is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 16 at Canyon Hill Cemetery. Due to the heightened COVID-19 risk, the gravesite service will be limited to close friends and family members.
Carolyn is survived by her four children: Marty, Staci, Shannon, Shawna; her brother Roger Allen; sister Joann Easterly and brother-in-law Vic Easterly; sister-in-law Geraldine Dutton; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, in 2016.
Our hearts go out to all of those in our community that loved little Carolyn as much as we did. Thank you for your years of unconditional love, support, and kindness.
With love,
The Freeman Family
