Eugene was the oldest of 3 children born to Edwin Henry Zander and his wife Hilma Emilia, nee Baumgarten. His sbilings were Myrna and Carolyn. He married Lucille Sailer in 1949 and they had three children: Cynthia, Dawn and Richard. The family moved to California in 1954. In 1960 Eugene was married to Lora Wilkinson. His son Richard died in April of 1968. Geno owned Zander Construction Company, but loved to fish. From 1982-1986 Geno and his wife Kathy owned and operated Geno Charters out of San Diego. Eugene and Kathy moved to Julian, CA in 1989.
