She was a long-time parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church and a member of their Alter Society. She worked as a geography clerk for the United States Census Bureau.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and father to her children, James Alton Abell; her second husband, Robert Scott Cissell; siblings, Helen Cissell, Fabian Buckman, and Harold Buckman.
Survivors include her children, Cathy Etheredge, Jim Abell (Rae), Tim Abell, and Cindy Parel (Emmanuel); grandchildren, Matthew Abell, Billie Jean Abell, Keith Etheredge (Joy), Laura Etheredge, Lisa Popson (Brenden), Tony Parel, and Amanda Parel; great-grandson, Logan Etheredge; stepchildren, Terry Cissell, Larry Cissell (Fiona), and Rose Millner (Ray); and brothers, J.C., Curtis, Bernard, and Ronald Buckman; four step-grandchildren; and one step-greatgrandchild.
Visitation will be held 2-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Little St. Joe Cemetery in Marion County, Kentucky.
