Born October 30, 1944, in Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Carter was the daughter of the late Leonard Beard, Sr., and Theresa (Denmark) Beard. She was also preceded in death by her brother: Leonard Beard, Jr. Diane was a homemaker and a graduate of Fort Hill High School.
She is survived by her children: Deneen Young; Sonya Carter; and Leroy Carter, III. And her grandchildren: Chantel, Tarha, and Zakera Young. She also leaves behind her great granddaughter: Stevie Marshall; her sisters: Etta Green and husband, Richard; and Scherry Brown and husband, Marcel: her sister-in-law: Gladys "Pat" Beard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Friday, September 17, 2021, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow at Noon with Reverend Lisa Boone officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. The family requests that everyone must please wear a mask.
