Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, September 10, 2021, following a valiant battle with dementia. He was 90 years old. Charles Bryce Becker was born on May 13, 1931, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Charles Earl and Lillian I. (Owen) Becker. He was a 1949 graduate of Saginaw High School. Charlie proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army for three years until his honorable discharge. He met the love of his life, Roberta Lee McKernan, at a roller rink while stationed at Camp Carson, Colorado. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on February 23, 1951; she survives him. Charlie was a truck driver with Swift Transportation for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a faithful member of the Warren Avenue Presbyterian Church where he volunteered as an elder and driving the bus to various church outings. He was also a member of the Teamsters. As a young man, Charlie enjoyed playing softball, as well as playing poker with his parents, brothers, sister, and their spouses. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling and won the Saginaw City Mixed Doubles in Bowling. He had an eye for detail and used this trait to meticulously care for his yard. Charlie will forever be remembered for his wonderful wit and sense of humor, his kindness and selflessness with family and friends, and for the love he had for his family.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Amy Jo for all the love, care, respect, and reverence she provided to Charlie and the entire family.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Roberta Lee Becker of Saginaw, one son and two daughters: Charles David (Judy) Becker of Saginaw; Cheryl (Keith) Harrington of Saginaw; Amy (Jason Bohinski) Becker of Saginaw; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Becker of Saginaw; two sisters-in-law, Kay Becker of Harrison and Joyce Becker of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Duane (Barbara) Becker, Marilyn (Marvin) Eurick, Harold Becker, Donald Becker; and special friends, Howard and Betty Walker.

Military Honors and a Committal Service will take place 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Oakwood Mausoleum, 5950 Gratiot Road under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post #439. Rev. Pamela Renna will officiate with entombment to follow. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Association, or Compassus Hospice. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the mausoleum or through www.casefuneralhome.com.
