Mrs. Hattie Mae Allen, affectionately known as "Apple" of 11 West Broad Rock, Richmond, VA., departed this life Friday, September 3, 2021 at the residence of her daughter. She was born to her parents, the late Mr. Buster Jones and Juliet Brooks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Robert Brooks; spouse, James Jerome Allen, Sr; sister, Julia Jones, three brothers, Robert Brooks, Jr., John and Wilson Jones.

Mrs. Allen joined Mount Hope Baptist Church, Prince George, VA., at an early age. She was formerly employed at A. H. Robinson and E.R. Carpenter for a short period of time.

Left to cherish her memories are: two loving and devoted children, Jerome and Lil Allen of Richmond, VA; three granddaughters, Tranise Allen, Brianna Maurice and Keneytta Branch all of Richmond, VA; sisters, Annie Ragsdale, Louise Waller and Carol Waller of Chester, VA.; brother, Lee Brooks (Velma) of Petersburg, VA; mother-in-law, Mrs. Annie Allen of Chester, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The Williams Family would like to express special thanks to, Heartland Hospice of Richmond, VA, daughter, Lil Allen, family friend, Dawn Nolan and caregivers, Jamila and Michelle.

Homegoing service will be held 1 p.m., Monday, September 13, 2021 at the Petersburg Chapel of Bland Funeral Home, 137 Harrison St., Petersburg, VA., 23803. Rev. Dr. Andrew J. White, will officiate. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Rd., Chester, VA., 23836.

The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Allen have been entrusted to the professional staff of Bland Funeral Homes, 137 Harrison St., Petersburg, VA., 23803. 804.732.7841.
