John Edward Warner, age 75 of Franklin, WV, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Cortland Acres Nursing Home in Thomas, WV. He was born on July 26, 1946, in Circleville, WV, the son of the late Charles Adam and Martha Ann (Hinkle) Warner. Eddie married his wife of 35 years, Gloria Jean (Simmons) Warner, who preceded him in death on January 7, 2019.

Mr. Warner was a 1964 graduate of Circleville High School and he retired from the US Forestry Service. He was a member of the Franklin Moose Lodge #769, Masonic Lodge 144 AF & AM where he served as past Master, and Osiris Shrine.

Eddie is survived by: twin daughters, Jill Ann Cunningham (Eric) and Jan Warner Lambert (Barry) all of Harrisonburg, VA; 2 step daughters, Roxanna Helmick of Lahmansville, WV, Jackie Long (David Baker) of Maysville, WV; a step son, Jeremy Marple (Cassie) of Circleville, WV; a sister, Ann Wimer (Edwin) of Franklin, WV; 2 grandchildren, Evan Lambert and Zachary Cunningham; 6 step grandchildren; and 8 step great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by: a grandson, Delan Lambert; 3 brothers, Harold, Jack T, and Charles Warner; and a sister, Genevieve Roby.

Mr. Warner's family will receive friends on Sunday, September 12, 2021, 2-3 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Mike Loudermilk officiating. In honoring his wishes, following the services his body will be cremated.
