Mrs. Christina May "Chris" Fast-Owen, 77, of Newnan, died Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Born October 27, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Dwight Fast and the late Christina Steele Fast. Chris was beautiful, kind, encouraging, and had a regal presence. Her laugh was infectious and warmed the heart. She was a champion for the children and worked diligently to get pro-life legislation passed as well as legislation protecting children from predators. Chris spent many long hours volunteering at the GA Capitol educating and talking to legislators. She was tough but in a kind and gracious way. She was very much respected by elected officials as well as lobbyists from conservative organizations. Chris was a loyal and longtime member of the Coweta County GOP and a member of Eagle Forum where she served as president. She kept members informed about bills being submitted to the state legislature and encouraged members to voice their opinions. Chris was a DAR member and volunteered for several years in the prison ministry teaching women to read. Chris was a faithful member of Coweta Community Church and very loved by her family of believers. As a strong Christian who walked with the Lord, she was always ready to share a Bible verse and was a steadfast prayer warrior. Chris, a true friend and devoted family member, was the first one to share if there was a need. Her concern for others and her desire to love well was always evident. Chris will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but we are comforted knowing she is with the Lord whom she so dearly loved.

Survivors include her husband, James V. "Jim" Owen; stepchildren, Pamela Ann Bradley of Valdosta, and James B. Owen of Miami, FL; brother, Dwight Fast, Jr. (Cris) of Raleigh, NC, and Selena Midkiff (Gary) of Charleston, WV.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Coweta Community Church with Pastor Patrick Singh officiating. Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
