William Larry Stone, 69 of Lake City, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Lake City Medical Center in Lake City. He was a lifelong resident of Lake City and a son to the late William Isaac Stone and Mary Annie Foreman Stone. Mr. Stone worked for Homes of Merit and also the Florida Department of Corrections at the Suwannee Correctional Institution for over 20 years at each. He loved fishing, the Florida Gators, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. Mr. Stone was a member of the Lake City Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Allen Wade Stone; and one sister, Arthie Louise Azad.
Survivors include his two sons, William J. Stone (Kimberly), Jennings, FL and Christopher L. Stone, Lake Park, GA; his daughter, Victoria Carmichael (Rory), Lake Park, GA; his brother, Nelson Stone (Linda), Lake City; and four grandchildren, Joseph Stone, Kody Stone, Seth Pittman and Taylor Stone.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Jerry Yunes of Kol HaMashiach Messianic Congregation officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
