Larry W. Hight, 74, of Spencer passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at his residence. He was born January 9, 1947 in White Plains, KY to the late Lindel and Ola Mae (Fox) Hight.

Larry received his B.S degree in Agriculture from Western Kentucky University. He began his Extension career with Purdue University in 1973 as Youth Educator in Perry County, IN. In 1976 he became the Extension Agent Crop specialist. In 1983, he transferred to Owen County as CED Extension Agent/Ag. In 1994 he assumed the position of Extension Educator half time in Clay County. He worked in both Clay and Owen Counties until his retirement in 2003. Larry was one of the primary movers and shakers for the Owen County Purdue Club which supports scholarships to deserving Owen County students. He also helped start the Owen /Monroe Beef Cattle Association. Following his retirement from Purdue Extension programs, he has been active on the Spencer-Owen Community School Board since 2006.

Larry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Londa Hight; five sons, Jason (Kimberly) Hight, James (Angela) Hight, Justin (Jennifer) Hight, Joshua (Jenna) Hight and Jansen Hight; fourteen grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Virginia Latham and Edith Pratter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ethel Hight.

Funeral services for Larry will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Burial will follow at Nettle Creek Cemetery in Hagerstown, IN
