Marilyn O. Hill, 88 of Ozark, MO., Marilyn O. Hill, 88 of Ozark, MO., formerly of Kissee Mills.
Marilyn O. Hill passed away on Monday June 17, 2019 at the Ozark Care and Nursing Center in Ozark, MO. She was born on November 3, 1930 to John Peter Loux and Zelma O. (nee) Sutherland Loux, of Wichita, KS. She is survived by her son Patrick Roland Hill and his long-time companion Barbara Asworth, of Republic, MO; sisters Mary "Darlene" Souter of Park City, KS., and Merna (nee Loux) (Simpson) Kermott of Banning, CA.; grandchildren Brian Achor of Springfield, MO and Daniel Roland Hill (Sarah) of Mt. Clemons, MI.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Arthur Hill; and, brothers John Edward Loux and R. C. "Pete" Loux. Marilyn graduated with a master's degree from Notre Dame University. She taught school and was a school principal for her convent, Sisters Adores of the Most Precious Blood. She also taught at Christ the King, All Saints, in Oklahoma City, and many other schools throughout the state of Kansas. Marilyn entered the convent in 1947 and was there for 20 years. She left the Order and taught school in Wichita, where she met Jim Hill again, (having known him previously, as he was her brother-in-law. After dating for a while in Wichita, they were engaged, and later married in Beirut. In her early life she traveled around the world with Jim, as his occupation was a Head Mechanic for an oil service company, Dowell Slumberger. They were married in Beirut, Lebanon. After settling in the Forsyth area, she and Jim co-managed a mechanic business, convenience store and motel. Marilyn was well known for driving the company tow truck for many years, and she also enjoyed riding her own motorcycle. Marilyn was a member of the Forsyth VFW Ladies' Auxiliary. Internment will take place at a later date.
