Family and Friends will be saddened to learn of the passing of Benjamin Franklin Wade, a beloved friend and brother to all in the Masonic Community. Ben was born 10/23/1938 in Portland, Oregon, attended public schools, graduating from Benson High School in 1956. Ben went to college, and after graduation worked as a surveyor and in the commercial construction industry. In 1960 Ben was initiated and made a Freemason in Mount Hood Lodge #157. Ben enjoyed the ritual and principles of the craft, and quickly established a reputation of being an accomplished ritualist in both Scottish Rite and York Rite fraternal organizations. Ben received the Albert Pike Award for his service to Scottish Rite and wrote the Manual for Grand High Priest in Royal Arch Masonry. Ben became a student of Secret and Esoteric fraternities, and was knowledgeable in the rituals and practices of organizations too many to name. Ben was a charter member of Esoterika Masonic Lodge #227 and was Master of that lodge in 2011. Ben passed at the age of 82 on 9/2/2021 while living in Marquis Autumn Hills in Raleigh Hills, Oregon. Ben was preceded in death by his mother, Edna A (Wold) Wade and his Father Fredrick Benjamin Wade. Ben's surviving family are his sister Judith Husman, his son Rick, and his daughters Lillian and Corinne. Ben will be missed by all who knew him well.
