Marion C. Jones, age 95, of Mankato, MN, formerly of Wells, MN, died Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her home. A Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Fr. John Kunz and Father Greg Havel officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday September 15, 2021 from 4-7 pm at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Minnesota Lake, MN. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home of Wells is entrusted with arrangements. Marion was born April 2, 1926 in Minnesota Lake, MN, the daughter of Thomas and Matilda (Evan) Stencel. She graduated from high school in 1943. Marion was united in marriage to Erwin A. Jones in 1952. She was a farmer's housewife for many years before working as a salesperson for Texas Refinery from 1986 until present. Marion belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters for more than 55 years. She was a member of the Rosary Society, and the American Legion. Marion loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing the accordion and piano. She loved playing a variety of card games and playing checkers with her kids.
Marion is survived by her children: Mary Olson of Mankato, MN, Charles (Kris) Jones of Hollywood, FL, Helen (Lloyd) Mitchell of Mapleton, MN, Tom (Amy) Jones of Wells, and Pat (Geri) Jones of Wells; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by parents; husband Erwin; and four siblings.
