Jessica Michelle Rose, 32, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015.

She was born August 5, 1983 in Farmington Hills, Michigan. She attended the University of Wisconsin and received her law degree from Benjamin Cardozo School of Law in New York.

Jessica was a very special and engaging person. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many close friends. She loved traveling, cooking, parties, and sports. She was very creative.

Jessica liked to organize events and bring people together. At Okemos High School, she was active in the orchestra, National Honor Society, and competitive cheer team. She had a passion for learning new things and meeting new people. She taught herself to play the guitar and piano. She became fluent in three languages, and had the opportunity to study abroad in England, Spain, and France.

At the University of Wisconsin, she joined the AXO sorority and graduated with a degree in business. Following graduation, she worked for the university athletic department in sports marketing, and thoroughly enjoyed working with the many coaches and players. She was a true sports fanatic, and watched all the games.

Jessica's passion for debate and politics ultimately led her to New York City where she attended the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law. After graduating in 2010, Jessica moved to Florida and began working for the State Attorney General's office as a prosecutor, and then a public defender. She enjoyed helping all people, but especially the underprivileged.

She will be greatly missed by all those whose life she touched.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Arthur Rose.

She will be lovingly remembered by her father, Bob (Chantal) Rose; her mother, Sharon (Mike) Miller; her sisters, Erica (Adam) Fishel and Allie Rose; her brother, Peyton Rose; her grandparents, Helen Rose, Ron and Sylvia St. Jean, Carole Folks and Larry Folks; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 6pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
