He was employed as a dietary aide at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro for over twelve years before joining Wolverine Human Services in Vassar late last year. While at Wolverine, Steve found his passion in helping kids and felt satisfaction with the difference he was making in their lives.
Steve was united in marriage with Maria Valdez on August 27, 2016, and the couple was looking forward to celebrating their fifth anniversary in just a few days. He was a member of Anchor Cove Church in Caro and loved time spent on his motorcycle. He was an avid golfer and was known to quote his favorite comedy movies or sing every lyric to classic rock songs. Steve's greatest joy came from his family, especially his two sons whom he adored.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Maria Ball; two sons, Bryce and Seth Ball of Caro; parents, Kim & Sharon Ball of Caro; siblings, Michael Ball and his wife, Crystal, of Yale, Colleen Hood of Caro; six nieces and nephews, Landon, Lauren, Leah, Derek, Michael, and Issac; mother- and father-in-law, Lauri & Manuel Valdez of Cass City; and best friend and honorary brother, Rob Reinelt of Caro.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Anchor Cove Church in Caro with Pastor Dave Wilczynski officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday and on Wednesday at the church until the time of the service.
