September 25, 1923 - March 28, 2020
Town of Wawayanda, New York

Carl G. Hansen, son of Thorkild and Jane (Ford) Hansen, passed away on March 28, 2020. Born on September 25, 1923 in the Town of Wawayanda, NY, Carl was a lifelong resident of the area.

Carl was predeceased in 2015 by his beloved wife of 67 years, Vera Mae (France) Hansen. Vera and Carl were owners of Calvera Farms in the Town of Wawayanda. Carl was a fixture in the Town of Wawayanda government, where he served as the Town's longtime assessor. In addition, he was a member of the Orange County Legislature.

He was a congregant and treasurer of the Scotchtown Presbyterian Church in the Town of Wallkill, NY, as well as a member of the Session.

Survivors include Carl's brother, Laurence Hansen of Westtown, nieces Shirley Lathrop of Rochester, New York, Nancy Hansen of Highland, NY, Kathleen Sawyer and her husband Raymond of Johnson, NY, and nephew Thomas D. Hansen and his wife Karen of Johnson, NY, and three great-nieces, Marissa, Jessica and Katie. He was predeceased by an infant son, by his brother Harold A. Hansen and his wife, Flora of Johnson, by sister-in-law Doris Hansen, of Westtown, as well as nephews Louis Hansen of Highland, NY and James Hansen and his wife, Carrie, of Westtown, NY.

Due to the COVID pandemic, a private service and burial in the Hansen family plot in Pine Hill Cemetery was held in April, 2020.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11 A.M. in the Scotchtown Presbyterian Church, 367 Blumel Road, Middletown, NY, with Pastor Todd Young officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Scotchtown Presbyterian Church or the charity of one's choice.
