Sheila Michelle Russell, age 45, passed away on August 14, 2021 at her home in Peoria Heights, IL She was born to Riley Russell Jr. and Jerline (Watson) Russell on July 23, 1976 in Peoria.
Sheila is survived by her son, Shaine (Tammy Lorton) Freeman of Effingham, IL; newborn granddaughter, Layla Freeman; brothers, Alton and Greg Russell, both of Peoria, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sheila earned an Associate's degree from Illinois Central College and attended the Dental Hygiene program at MIT. She worked at with OSF Hospice for many years as a CNA, and also worked as a custodian at her church.
She enjoyed being involved at church going on mission trips with her church family at Richwoods. She was an All American athlete in high school and enjoyed running and dancing in her free time. Sheila had a very positive outlook on life and the gift of helping others.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Richwoods Community Church. Pastor Marty Hunt will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research.
