Jeffery L. Peterson, 67, of Dunlap, IL., passed away at 12:21 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. He was born on January 14, 1954 in Peoria, the son of Ralph and Geraldine (Hibberd) Peterson.
Jeffery married Marlene (Lalicker) Peterson on November 27, 1994; she survives.
Also surviving are one son, Michael Fromm of Dunlap; three step-daughters, Amy (Rick) Hutchison of Peoria, Ann (Tony) Coovert of East Peoria, IL., Allison (Eric) Herring of Peoria; seven grandchildren, Jacob Hutchison of Peoria, Crpl. Nathan Meinders of San Diego, CA., Corbin Coovert and Brogan Coovert both of East Peoria, McKenzie Meinders, Specialist Kaine (Ashlynn) Meinders, and Kobe (Emma) Meinders all of Peoria; one sister, Susan (Earl) McWilliams of Edelstein,IL; two nieces; and one nephew. He is expecting a great-granddaughter in November.
Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Dennis Peterson.
Jeffery was an electrician for forty years having worked at Liberty Steel (formerly Keystone) in Bartonville, and Bemis Bag Company. He last worked on July 12, 2021 and retired on September 1, 2021. He loved his family, especially his granddaughter, McKenzie. He enjoyed wildlife animals and adored his dog, Molly and his two cats, Pale Face and Cindy. His hobbies included wood working, antiques and genealogy.
A private celebration of Jeffery's life will be at a later date. In his honor memorial contributions may be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
