Elmer Xavier Brown departed this earthly life on August 25, 2021 at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, Maryland. He was born August 8, 1959, Charles County, Maryland to the late James Richard Brown Sr., and the late Catherine Arminta Brown.

Elmer was educated in the Charles County public school system. After graduating high school Elmer served his country for four years in the United States Army, with two years of Foreign Service, he continued to serve his county in the United States Army Reserves for four years. Elmer had a career as a truck driver with Mitchell Supply Company, Lowes, and Dunn's Trucking.

Elmer loved the race track and would attend races at Maryland International Raceway, Virginia Motorsports Park, Capitol Raceway, Colonial Beach Dragway (now known as Custom T's Motorsports Park) and Potomac Speedway. He was an avid Washington Football Team (formerly Washington Redskins) and Washington Nationals fan. He would go back and forth with his sisters because they are Dallas Cowboys fans. He enjoyed spending time with his family and teasing his nieces and nephews all the time.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, James Richard Brown Sr., and Catherine Arminta Brown and great nephew DeVonte Baker.

Elmer leaves to cherish his memory his son Fabian Brown; siblings Nancy Dyeann Chase (Robert), James Jr. (Frances), David "Lionel" (Rose), Pamela (Jerome); two aunts Agnes "Betty" Barnes (James) and Cynthia "Baby-Sis" Magruder; one uncle Leo "Sonny Boy" Butler; nephews Darrell Chase, Davon Knott (Nicole), Steven Jackson, Jerel Yates and Alex Pickeral; nieces Felicia Montgomery (Troy), Donna Peoples (Kevin), Shawnte Chase, Khiana Washington (Gill), Jasmine Yates, Kiesha Downs (Nick), Kristie Proctor (Malcolm), Kandy Handy (Calvin); a host of great nieces, great nephews, family and friends; close friends Thomas Yates and Neil Proctor.
