Vickie considered her work for the Lord to be her reasonable service. The only acknowledgment she wanted from it was to hear "Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: Enter into the joy of your Lord."
Vickie was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, Randolph and Bertha Mae Bivens and Mae Ella Haley; father, William Bivens; aunts, Mamie Carol Lacey, Martha Ann Bivens and Freda West; a very special aunt, Betty Lou Eaton; and three uncles who having in her life she likened to winning the lottery: Marvell Bivins, Sr., Robert Edward Bivens, Sr., and David Bivens, Sr.
