Burned To Death.
There has been conveyed from Bakerfield, Cal., the announcement of the death of Mrs. Charles Beam, which occurred at her home in that city on Wednesday, January 8.
Mrs. Beam was washing a dress in gasoline which was accidentally fired by one of her daughters striking a match to light a stove nearby. In an instant Mrs. Beam was enveloped in flame and suffered such an injury which led to her death.
Mrs. Beam had resided in Shreveport for many years before her husband removed to California. The body, accompanied by her husband and two children, was conveyed to the home of her father, C. T. Perkins of Lake Charles, La. The burial took place in the [Orange] Grove cemetery Monday. Floral offerings were sent by several friends in Shreveport, to whom she was endeared.
