Mr. Sanders was born and reared in Winston County. He attended Longino School near Philadelphia and operated Sanders' Shoe Shop in Philadelphia for many years. He lived in Deer Park, Texas, for the last fifteen years, where he worked for Brown & Root Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Goldie Sanders; daughters, Miss Janie Sanders of Bogalusa, La., Mrs. Debbie Lyn Perkins of Jackson, Miss Angie Sanders of Union and Mrs. Johnnie Cumberland of Philadelphia; step-daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Burke of Pasadena, Texas; son, Roger Sanders of Houma, La.; step-son, Deward Shepard of Pasadena, Texas; father, Jeff Sanders of Noxapater; sisters, Mrs. Hilda Yarborough of Flynt, Mich., Mrs. Beatrice Slayton of Philadelphia and Mrs. Lessie Watkins of Pearl; brothers, Len Sanders of Abbeville, Alvin Sanders of Noxapater and Earsel Sanders of Jackson; and thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
