Daniel Arthur Chase, 57, of Rock Creek, unexpectedly passed away on September 2, 2021. He was born October 10, 1963 in Willoughby.
As a child he spent countless weekends on his Uncle Jack's farm riding horses, dirt bikes and learning how to shoot guns. He was a strong-willed child and man, which motivated him to start his own business and become the owner and operator of D.C. Maintenance.
Dan's proudest moments include the day each of his daughters graduated college and when his grandchildren were born. He has had many titles in life but Papa was his favorite. He always had a funny story to tell and everyone that knew him has a favorite.
His hobbies included: getting the best deal at a garage sale and collecting vintage toys (especially GI Joes and Fisher Price). He knew every episode of Family Guy and loved listening to loud classic rock on his Gollehon speakers.
He was a fabricator of many things and if a job came up, he not only had the tool, but the skills to complete it. He built many unique projects that his grandchildren will always cherish.
Survivors include his daughters, Shannan (Jason) Szekely, Ashley (Harry Martin) Chase and Brittany (Eric Arko) Chase; grandchildren, Madelynn, Carter and Harper; mother, Ruth Chase; siblings, Clifford (Heidi) Chase Jr, and Cindy (Jim) Adie; nephews, Clifford (Shannon) Chase III and Zachary (Kristin) Chase; great nieces and nephews and girlfriend, Sharon Galey, her children and his Motorola flip phone.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Chase Sr.
We will always remember our Dad in a pair of ripped Levi's jeans with a bandana on his head. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. We take comfort in knowing he is with his Dad and we will one day be together again.
Private family services were held in memory of Daniel. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
