Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother
Barbara Ray, 83, passed away on September 7, 2021 at Mission Hospital-Memorial Campus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewit and Annie Griffith, husband of 63 years, Toby Ray who died in 2019.
Barbara is survived by her children, Melissa "Missy" (Mike) Gentry and Edgar "Butch" (Lanae) Ray; one brother, Donnie (Darlene) Griffith of Hendersonville; sister, Linda (Johnny) Rathbone of Waynesville; four grandchildren, Brooke (Karl) Adams, Brian (Heidi) Coward, Josie (Garrison) McGuire and Colton (Emily) Ray; five great-grandchildren, Caroline, Carson and Cade Ray and Oakley Elizabeth and Mackenzie Jade Adams and one on the way; good friend, Peggy Tyler; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Barbara lived most of her life in Iron Duff and worked at Tuscola High School and retired as a secretary from there. The past 20 or so years, She and Toby managed Lower Bell RV Park at Lake Chatuge. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and loved spending time with her friends and family. She was full of love and laughter. Barbara loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A private family service will be held.
