Larry grew up in Canton. He worked at Champion Paper Mill for 43 years and retired in 2012. Following Larry's retirement, he worked at Hometown Hardware in Canton until March, 2021. Larry enjoyed flying his Beechcraft Musketeer single-engine aircraft for over 20 years, fishing, camping, but mostly time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his church family. He was a deacon at Ridgeway Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, John B. Parker. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diane L. Parker; mother, Evelyne Parker; sisters, Peggy Holland and Brenda Worley and her husband, Jennings; son, Tracey Parker; daughter, Geni Hall and her husband, Greg; grandsons, Chase Parker and Drew Parker and his wife, Morgan; granddaughters, Kayla Wilson and Breonna Boone and her husband, Mark; great-grandchildren, Noah Boone and Karli-Jo Hill; and his spoiled dog, Charlie; and a large number of aunts, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held in his honor at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack W. Collins and Reverend Scott Sprinkle officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
