Cheri Sue Smith, age 60, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on September 9, 2021. Cheri was born on August 17, 1961, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She attended Tuscaloosa High School where she graduated in 1979. She was a 1985 graduate of the Tulane University School of Architecture in New Orleans, Louisianna. She made many friends there that she called family and loved the city she would call home for years. She also lived and worked in the Destin, Florida area. Cheri was a former employee of the University of Alabama and was very talented in her work. She was preceded in death by her parents Wayne Allen Smith and Jimmie Sue Turner-Smith and grandparents William and Viola Watkins Smith and James F. and Gertrude Dorough Turner Hallman. She is survived by her brothers Philip Wayne Smith and Jeffrey Allen Smith (Lily). Niece and nephews Haley Cheri Smith Abbett, Philip Coleman Smith, Caleb Tyler Smith, and their families. Other survivors included her mother's siblings, Roy E Turner and Faye T Booth and their families, Cheri's cousins.
Cheri had many struggles in her life and fought hard against Parkinson's disease.
