Peggy Kay Buchanan, age 59, a longtime resident of Hoquiam, died on April 30, 2015, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. Peggy was born in Seattle, WA on October 1, 1955 to John Thomas and Annabelle (Puett) McDaniel. She had attended local schools.

She was primarily a stay-at-home mother, but had worked at Iron Springs Resort and at 7-Eleven. She was active in Little League with her son and enjoyed going to garage sales. She is remembered as a great cook and baker.

On November 21, 1995, she and Alvin Thomas Buchanan were married in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He survives at the family home in Hoquiam.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include two sons, Shawn McDaniel of Hoquiam and Thomas Theodore Buchanan of Hoquiam; a daughter, Sandra Glasco of Olympia; two sisters, Barbara Zelowski of Bremerton and JoAnn Wright of Hoquiam; two brothers, Richard McDaniel of Hoquiam and Pat McDaniel of Westport and four grandchildren. A brother, Walter McDaniel preceded her in death.

There will be a private family gathering at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
