Gerald Randal Fountain, "The Fount", 74, of Wichita Falls, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

The family will receive friends between 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Stubblefield, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.

Gerald was born on February 7, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Hugh A. Fountain and Dean Newman Fountain. He served our country proudly in the United States Army as a Combat Medic during Vietnam from 1966 until 1969. He went on to serve as a Staff Sgt. in the National Guard until 1979. Gerald worked for Gold Cross Ambulance Service for many years. In 1979, he went to work at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home where he has served the families of Wichita Falls and surrounding area for over 40 years. Gerald loved to go fishing and hunting and the occasional trip to the casino. He was a devoted dad, granddad and pops and loved his family unconditionally.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Hugh "Pete" Fountain; and his sister, Doris Purswell.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Lida Schaffner; his children, Eddie Maben and wife Lisa, Gerald Allen Fountain, Richard Wayne Fountain and wife Brandie, and Erin DeAngelus; his sister, Pat Garrett; his grandchildren, Hannah Fountain and her boyfriend Connor Bachert, Elsie DeAngelus, Hailey Laughrey, and Brandon Stephens; his daughter-in-law, Christina Fountain; his nieces and nephews, Melissa Brown, Louis Garrett, and Betty Dean Prukop; and numerous friends who will miss him dearly.
