Educator. Saúl Cuautle Quechol was a Jesuit priest, graduated in Philosophy and Social Sciences from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superior de Oriente (Technological Institute of Higher Studies of the East) and in Theology from the Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México (Mexico City Ibero-American University). He was in the Palafoxiano Major Seminary from 1985 to 1988 and entered the Society of Jesus on August 4, 1991. He was ordained a priest on May 25, 2002. In addition, he was a professor in Pedagogy and with a doctorate in Education from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (Comillas Pontifical University) in Madrid, Spain. His career includes being the rectory of the Instituto Oriente de Puebla and having been a member of the International Commission on the Apostolate of Jesuit Education (ICAJE) since 2018. He was also an associate member of the Inter-American Conference on Catholic Education (CIEC) since 2018; and president of the Latin American Federation of Schools of the Society of Jesus (FLACSI) as of 2018. On September 11, 2020, he took a protest as the new rector of the Ibearo-American University for the period 2020 to 2024, but he suffered a massive heart attack as a result of Covid-19.
