Mr. Scoggins died Sunday, June 20, 2010. Born in Charleston, SC, he was the son of Betty Wooley Hall and the late John Thomas Scoggins. He was a longtime area resident and was employed with Conway Transportation. Joe enjoyed music, he played many instruments but his favorite was playing the guitar. He enjoyed mostly spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Betty Wooley Hall of West Columbia, are his wife, Ashley Martin Scoggins of Elgin; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Scoggins and son Jacob Alexander Scoggins, both of the home, and son, Joe Scoggins, Jr. and his wife, Ashley Nicole of Gaston; grandchild, Joe Dean Scoggins, III; sister, Cathy Brown and her husband, Mike of Batesburg; and brothers, John Thomas Scoggins, Jr. and his wife, Frances of Batesburg, and Zane G. Watts of Tucson, AZ.
