Steven "Stevie" Paul Owens, age 59, left this earth Thursday, September 2, 2021 to go play Yahtzee in Heaven with his mom.
Steve was born March 3, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa to Ronald and Patricia Owens.
He attended East High School and Tech High School in Des Moines.
He worked at Highland Memory Gardens and Pine Hill Cemeteries. He then was employed and retired from the printing industry.
Steve enjoyed playing flag football and slow-pitch softball. He loved coaching his children and attending their events. Steve was an avid Cubs and Steelers fan.
He loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed his time fishing and vacationing at Lake of the Ozarks, spending time on Danny and Wendy's porch, and visiting with friends and family. He loved his conversation with a shot of Fireball.
He is survived by his father, Ronald Lee Owens; brother, Danny Lee (Wendy) Owens; sister, Ronda Owens; daughter, Lindsay Owens (Jacob Andrews); son, Zach Owens; their mother, Lisa Baumeister; special cousin, Shelly (Andy) Fiser-McHugh; grandchildren, Drake Crowder, Joplin Owens, and Holden Rice; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Owens; his grandparents, Paul, Cecil, and Dorothy whose words he lived by, "If you can't listen, you'll have to feel."; and many other loving family members.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2021, also at Hamilton's, and will conclude with burial at Powers Warren Cemetery in Runnells, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Steve.
