Elza Abney, 80, of 8113 Winchester Road, Clay City, widower of Willie Mae Stone Abney, died at 5:02 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.

A native of Clark County, he was the son of the late Jasper and Linnie Willoughby Abney. He was a retired farmer and antique dealer.

Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Williams, Cincinnati; a grandson, Steven Williams, Cincinnati; a granddaughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Lloyd Ross, Cleveland Heights, Ohio; a brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Katherine Abner, Winchester; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorean and Denzil Rader and Juanita and Ray Adams, Winchester, and Gladys Griffett, Clay City, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Jimmy Muncie. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Abner, Louis Ray Adams, Dwayne Rader, Donnie Adams, Daniel Abner and Robert Abner.

Friends may call 6-9 p.m. today.
